Papa's Surgery...

The last few weeks have consisted of more tests and preparations for Papa’s surgery. Monday June 8th Papa Jim will go into St. Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix, AZ. Dr.’s will be removing the mass and part or all of the left kidney. Mom, Nana, myself and of course the guest of honor will be heading down to St. Joe’s in the early hours and the surgery is scheduled to begin in the afternoon and last a few hours. Papa should be in the hospital 2 or 3 days with a 6 week recovery time. The oncologist reassured us that the lymphoma was low grade and very treatable, and no rush to start treatment.

Please pray this with me….Dear Lord, Give the surgeons/doctors all of the knowledge and guidance they need to be successful. Sustain Papa by Your grace that his strength and courage may not fail; Heal him according to Your will. Fill Papa’s heart with faith. Be near him in times of weakness and pain. Lord, hear our prayer, for we give You praise, honor, glory and thanks.

Amen.

I will be on tomorrow to post an update once I arrive home. Thank you ahead of time for once again loving and praying for my family during this time.

  6. I will be praying for your Papa. My best friend since jr high just had a radical hysterectomy two days ago, Friday. She was diagnosed with cervical cancer in May. She had a tumor the size of a golfball. Doctors said that everything looks great that as long as all the test come back good, she will not have to have chemo. They said that from the few tests they did right after the surgery things were about 95% chance of no chemo, they are just waiting on the final tests. God was with her and I know he will be with your Papa and family.

    God Bless,
    Candace
