One Kidney Lighter....

Photo of Papa just before he went into surgery!

First of all I wanted to express my deepest gratitude towards all of you. Thank you for praying and thinking of Papa Jim Hancock and the rest of our family today! Thanks for your continued prayers as his journey continues.

We arrived at Saint Joseph's in Phoenix at about 8:20am and they checked Papa in, they took him back to pre op where he waited...

and waited...

and waited...

At about noon the surgery started! After a 600 piece jigsaw puzzle was completed, three magazines were read and 5 potty breaks taken..... his Dr. came out to talk to Nana.

4:30 the operation was complete, the kidney and the mass had been removed successfully. Papa was getting into the recovery room!!

8:30 Papa finally got to his room, he has been in A LOT of pain "it hurts like hell!" were his exact words. Please pray for his pain to subside and his recovery to be speedy.

We will know more once the pathology report comes back in a week or two. Praise the Lord! He is so good, isn't he?

June 9th~Papa is still in allot of pain today and will be attempting to get out of bed. Nana has not left his bedside except to catch some ZZZ's at the hotel next to the hospital. I will keep you all updated.
