Beccah Beushausen, a 26-year-old social worker from Mokena, Ill. You in the blogging world may know her as "B", April Rose's mom. Read her story here.

Please continue to pray for Beccah and her family, she knows she has made a terrible mistake and has had to spend time in the hospital over the stress.

  1. Wow. I wasn't aware of this story until it came out that it was fictional but my heart does go out to her. I don't really understand why someone would make up stuff like that but I pray for her.

  2. You are missing the much greater implication of this woman's actions. I was a follower of her blog for months, an I am so disturbed by her exploitation of people's feelings and their relationship with god. I understand she clearly needs help and is a troubled person but I don't think it's fair to dismiss the ramifications of this. Because of her dishonesty, genuine and heartfelt stories from women who are actually going through negative fetal diagnosis' will not be trusted, helped, or encouraged. Instead Beccah and those like her create a skepticism in people's heart, and for that her actions are more than just that of a troubled young lady. More than her, I pray for the people who actually are going through adverse circumstances, because of Beccah their stories will get a second glance.

I am sorry you feel I am "missing the much greater implication of this woman's actions"
I continue to pray that Beccah finds a way to cope with what she has done and that He has mercy on her.

Does that mean I am not hurt, angry or to have feelings of mistrust? Of course not, I spent many hours on her blog just like the both of us and many other people. The time I did spend praying for Little April Rose and Beccah was not in vain, it was time I still spent with my sweet creator.

I never said it was fair to dismiss the ramifications, I am simply saying that she is accountable to the Lord for her choices. I am choosing to show grace and love to someone who I believe is truly mentally ill.

But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you (Luke 6:27-28).

  4. Kristen I agree with you. I too followed for months and left comments and prayed. But I have not felt anger towards this woman. Maybe it is because in real life just recently I have had to pray for those that meant harm to me and my daughter. They seem to be following me into the blog world too as they are becoming followers of blogs I have followed for quite a while. I am still praying for them that they stop. It is two sisters. I feel sad for Beccah and these twin sisters that seem to need as much help as Beccah does.

Well I had hopped over here to tell you that I had tagged you on my blog Saturday. I hope your having a great day.

  5. She's published a letter on her blog. If you have not already seen it, you'll want to check it out.
    Sad story - all around.
We all have (something) to learn from this.

  6. your post is the first i have heard about this. i feel so bad for everyone involved :( i feel for her and what she must be dealing with emotionally to have done this. i feel for her readers who now feel so betrayed.

i hope (and i know) some good will eventually come from this.

  7. I think you women are wonderful and sweet but you are being taking in by her again. Beccah is just lying more to get herself out of this latest mess. Its not her first scam. She faked a pregnancy a few years back and broke a couple's heart by telling them they could "adopt the baby" which didn't even exist. She also got kicked out of college for countless lies and schemes the effected others. (Dead Boyfriend who never existed was the big one during her college years - even held a fundraiser). She shouldn't get off this time (her past trauma claims are just more lies) because she will only continue to lie and manipulate people if she doesn't even get punished for this - her largest one to date. (I however think the adoption scam was much more evil, since it emotionally destroyed a couple who just wanted a baby to love.)

  8. Uh... I think I smell sock-puppets. These "Pro-Becca" comments are all exceedingly similar to others on many other forums. If some of these comments aren't really sock-puppets, then I'm sorry for you people. Someone who betrays such deep and intimate emotions as the ones that God has instilled in the heart of women, to love a child despite any flaws... well... that person is a monster.

"We also know that law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious; for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, for adulterers and perverts, for slave traders and *liars and perjurers*--and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine that conforms to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which he entrusted to me."
